Luis Leon and his team at Carbon Carbon at Marina Lanzarote in Arrecife, offered a special tasting menu at the weekend, using Ox Meat from animals raised at Finca de Uga. The event was a sell out, and Finca de Uga will now continue to develop and rear Oxen for Carbon Carbon and other restaurants on the island.

Airport Maintains Reduction On Carbon Footprint Programme

Cesar Manrique Airport has reached level 2 (reduction) on the carbon footprint programme. The programme starts by measuring independently, the organisations carbon footprint and then measures the effect of changes awarding a level from 1 to 6. The airport is at the second stage of the process, which will hopefully see it achieve carbon neutrality by 2026.

Vacation Rental Numbers

The Institute of statistics has published information about legally licensed vacation rental properties in Lanzarote. There are currently 6,670 properties registered on the island, offering 30,986 beds. Around a third of them are in the municipality of Yaiza.
